With a Donor Advised Fund, you can choose to give to the charity of your choice, be it a not-for-profit social welfare charity, arts organization, educational institution, place of worship and the like. For those of the Catholic faith, we can recommend a number of relevant and worthy causes.
CASE STUDY:
A lover of the arts wanted to give exclusively to the performing arts. So he directed us to apply his gifts to a major concert venue, a local children's orchestra and a school of music. The patron wrote one check and the gifts were made. Subsequently, the donor receives quarterly reports outlining the charitable distributions and their fund's market value.
A Few Words on the Merits of Donor-Advised Funds
"You've got a staff of people who can help you identify good causes if you are having trouble determining where you want the money to go, and for those of the Catholic faith, you're either directly or indirectly helping Catholic charities."
-Carlyn McCaffrey, Esq., Weil Gotshal & Manges
